Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Trent Reinsmith!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Kelly Sullivan!
The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, Steve Montenegro and Russell Pearce.

Sullivan lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Reinsmith shoots in for a takedown but Sullivan shows good takedown defense.
Sullivan throws a big counter head kick but Reinsmith avoids it with no problem.
Reinsmith throws out a leg kick but Sullivan moves out of range and Reinsmith only half commits.
Sullivan throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Reinsmith tries for a takedown but Sullivan circles away easily
and Sullivan cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Sullivan shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Reinsmith but Reinsmith pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Reinsmith rushes Sullivan and presses him up against the cage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Reinsmith tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
Reinsmith has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Sullivan after a bit of a struggle.

Sullivan has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Reinsmith is proving hard to escape from.

Sullivan really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Reinsmith. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Sullivan jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.

Reinsmith clinches up against the cage.

Reinsmith throws a body punch but Sullivan moves out of range.
Sullivan connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Sullivan connects with a good right hand that stumbles Reinsmith. Reinsmith circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Sullivan fails in his attempt to clinch.

Reinsmith shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Reinsmith was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Reinsmith decides to stand up, so the ref orders Sullivan to his feet.
Reinsmith shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Sullivan as he avoids it easily.

Reinsmith moves into range and lands a nice body kick.
Sullivan looks for a takedown but Reinsmith sprawls well.
An attempted straight right counter from Reinsmith misses the target.
Reinsmith shoots in for a double leg but Sullivan sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Reinsmith passes Sullivan's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Sullivan has hold of Reinsmith's hands but Reinsmith slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Reinsmith with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Trent Reinsmith will probably get the nod.
That's time! Reinsmith's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Sullivan lands a nice hook to Reinsmith's body. Reinsmith takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Reinsmith takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Reinsmith fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Reinsmith misses with a looping right.
Sullivan wants to counter the offense by Reinsmith and move into the clinch position.
Trent Reinsmith seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Sullivan scores with a head kick.

and Reinsmith holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

No luck with that takedown attempt from Reinsmith.

Reinsmith scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.

Reinsmith stands up and beckons Sullivan to his feet.

Reinsmith takes the fight into the clinch.

Reinsmith looks for a takedown but Sullivan sprawls well.

Reinsmith looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Sullivan lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Sullivan's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Sullivan duly obliges.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Reinsmith gets off balance looking for a body kick
and Sullivan counters with a left and a right that stings Reinsmith.

Reinsmith is rocked!
Sullivan throws a 1-2 combo that connects squarely on Reinsmith's jaw, knocking him onto his back! Sullivan dives in looking to finish as Reinsmith flails his arms in a desperate attempt to block Sullivan's strikes! Sullivan is raining down hammerfists and the ref stops it! Reinsmith's desperate flailing just didn't constitute intelligent defence. Some people will probably question the ref's decision but Reinsmith was definitely hurt and the ref saved him from taking unnecessary punishment. A fighter's safety is paramount in this sport.
