Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Sampson Shain (ranked 1276 p4p, 2363 weight class) and Sheev Palpatine (ranked 162 p4p, 280 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Palpatine's choice of entrance music: I am the Senate. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Sheev Palpatine seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Palpatine throws a lazy right hand but Shain sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Shain scores with a crisp jab that stopped Palpatine in his tracks.
Palpatine has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Palpatine crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Shain - the referee stops the clock and Palpatine gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Shain. Palpatine manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.

Shain tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.

Palpatine is trying to break the clinch but Shain has him pressed against the cage.

We are yet to see a takedown attempt from Palpatine in the fight. On paper you would think he is the more dominant ground fighter so let's see if these unusual tactics pay off.

Shain looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that.

and Shain rattles Palpatine with a well-timed uppercut counter. - Palpatine tries to back away and recover but his hands are down low and he gets tagged again, sending him stumbling down to the canvas. Shain dives in after him and quickly finishes the job with a trio of brutal punches, leaving Palpatine stiff and motionless on the mat!
