PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Steven Petersen (ranked 946 p4p, 1097 weight class) and Dollar Hero (ranked 112 p4p, 134 weight class). Hero has chosen For Heavy Metal we will die! as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Steven Petersen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Dollar Hero!

It looks like Steven Petersen has been cut.
Hero connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Hero looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Petersen is fending him off so far but Hero persists. Nope, Petersen circles away and we're back to standing.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Hero checks a leg kick.
Petersen connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Hero's hands.

Petersen displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Hero throws out the jab.
Hero has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.

Hero throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Petersen's waist but Petersen gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Hero off to one side.
Petersen fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Hero manages to avoid it.
Petersen takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.

Hero changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.

Hero shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.

Dollar Hero seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Hero is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Petersen had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.

Petersen chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Hero can pounce on him.

Steven Petersen has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dollar Hero.

Petersen is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Dollar Hero comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Hero has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
