Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Matt Manners (ranked 4530 p4p, 2239 weight class) and Mario Barrera (ranked 527 p4p, 294 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Matt Manners!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 23 - 10 - 1, fighting out of New York, Mario Barrera!
The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Shigeki Sano.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Barrera doesn't manage to clinch there - Manners circles away.
Manners has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Manners thuds a left hand into Barrera's body.
Barrera throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Manners.
Barrera slips a jab and a cross from Manners.
Barrera tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
Barrera lands a head kick!

It looks like Matt Manners has been cut.
Barrera stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Manners.
Manners goes for a high kick. It partially lands.

Barrera forces Manners back against the cage and clinches.

Barrera ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Barrera no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Manners thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Manners stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Barrera swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Barrera has control of Manners's left arm, preventing Manners from doing any damage.
Manners is pushing down on Barrera's leg trying to pass to half guard. Barrera is fighting to maintain full guard but Manners has managed to sneak the leg through.

Barrera really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Manners. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Manners is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Barrera doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Manners.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Barrera tries to get to full guard but Manners has control of the leg.
Manners wants to control but Barrera is keeping him busy.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Manners swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Manners takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.

Barrera fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Manners to the ground. Barrera is now in Manners's guard.

Barrera avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Manners has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Barrera should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Manners has tightened it up now! Barrera should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
