Russell fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.

Russell looks to throw the jab but Fortune is out of range.
Fortune clinches up with Russell and pushes him back against the cage.

Russell throws a nice looking combination but Fortune bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

and Fortune counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Richie Fortune is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
The fighters circle momentarily. Russell darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Fortune doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.

Russell throws out a loose jab but Fortune uses good head movement to avoid it.
Russell bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

and Fortune counters with a stiff right hand.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Fortune drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.

Russell swats away the attempt to clinch by Fortune.

Russell throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Fortune tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Russell is in Fortune's guard.

Russell slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Russell stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Fortune swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Russell distracts Fortune with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.

Russell tries to free his leg and advance position but Fortune is retaining full guard.
Russell postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Russell connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Fortune momentarily.
OH! Fortune has been rocked by a huge right hand and is in deep trouble! Russell smells blood and charges in for the finish! Russell unloads a vicious overhand right and connects to the jaw of Fortune sending him face first to the canvas! Unbelievable!

After winning the bout, Deviante Russell thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
