Mendes dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Lagounov. That did some damage!
A slapping leg kick lands for Lagounov.
Lagounov ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Lagounov scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Mendes tries to bench press Lagounov off him but Lagounov keeps the position.
Mendes is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Lagounov's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
Lagounov thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Mendes's head.
Mendes makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Mendes.
Lagounov is sitting in close to Mendes's body. Mendes has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Lagounov is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Lagounov is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Mendes.
