Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Kenosha Teh Oshawa! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Danny Sonnen! The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, Hugh Johnson and Summer Carpenter.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Good standup being displayed there by Teh Oshawa as he connects with a hook. Teh Oshawa lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Sonnen throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Teh Oshawa tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Sonnen is in Teh Oshawa's guard. Sonnen lands a couple of elbows.
It looks like Kenosha Teh Oshawa has been cut. Sonnen drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Sonnen jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Sonnen throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Teh Oshawa works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Sonnen postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Teh Oshawa working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Sonnen. Sonnen stops Teh Oshawa from standing up. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Sonnen accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Sonnen with a nice head shot there. Teh Oshawa is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Sonnen lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Kenosha Teh Oshawa's cut is getting worse. Teh Oshawa is looking to stand up but Sonnen isn't so interested in that idea. Sonnen is looking to work some ground and pound but Teh Oshawa has wrist control. Teh Oshawa knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Sonnen on the ground. Teh Oshawa wants to stand but Sonnen is controlling the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sonnen is pushing down on Teh Oshawa's leg trying to pass to half guard. Teh Oshawa is fighting to maintain full guard but Sonnen has managed to sneak the leg through. Teh Oshawa looks like he's trying to stand up.
Sonnen is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Teh Oshawa is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
