Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mir shoots for a double leg takedown but Morel sprawls well. He's pushed Mir's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Mir closes the distance and clinches up with Morel, looking for a takedown. Mir pushes Morel against the cage but Morel circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Morel scores with a nice strike.
It looks like Gene Mir has been cut.
Mir fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Pierre Morel has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Gene Mir.
Mir steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Morel.
Morel waves his right hand out infront of him, looking to distract Mir. Oh, he's unloaded a beast of a left hand - it worked! He's dropped Mir to the canvas! Can he finish him!?
Mir is rocked!
Morel working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Mir is still in real trouble! Can Morel finish him?

Mir seems to have recovered his senses.
Mir seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Morel pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Mir is keeping the position for now.
Morel thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Mir shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Morel as he jumps to the side.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Morel rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Mir moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Morel throws a right and a left that Mir avoids nicely.
Morel cracks Mir with a good jab.
Mir steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Morel.
No luck for Mir with that takedown attempt.
Mir throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Morel's waist but Morel gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Mir off to one side.
Mir looks gassed!
No luck for Mir with that takedown attempt.
Morel jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
Mir ducks under a wild hook from Morel.
Mir moves out of range of the strikes.
Morel throws a hook but Mir blocks it.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Mir defending well as Morel loads up on a big left hand.
Pierre Morel is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Mir looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Morel is fending him off so far but Mir persists. Nope, Morel circles away and we're back to standing.
Morel throws a looping overhand right but Mir ducks down to avoid it.
Morel drops Mir with a beautiful combination! Mir stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Morel is looking for the KO!
Mir moves out of range of the strikes.
Mir is trying desperately to land a takedown but Morel is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Mir.
Morel throws a jab when Mir was well out of range.
Mir shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Morel as he jumps to the side.
Morel misses with the combination.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Mir moves forwards but Morel connects with a nice, crisp jab.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Mir looks up at the clock. Bad move! Morel lands a right hand from hell, dropping Mir. Morel pounces and finishes the fight with a flurry of punches and elbows.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:18 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Pierre Morel!
