Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Gemechu McKraken (ranked 1138 p4p, 1692 weight class) and Lewis Burwell Puller (ranked 131 p4p, 194 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 4 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Gemechu McKraken!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 6 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Lewis Burwell Puller!
The judges for this bout are Dmitry Maklakov, Aleksandr Martynov and Konstantin Menshow.

McKraken fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

McKraken gets a double leg takedown into Puller's guard.
McKraken trying to control the position from guard on top but Puller is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Puller wants to stand and escape but McKraken is having none of it.
McKraken is looking to work some ground and pound but Puller has wrist control.
McKraken in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

Puller manages to escape and get back to his feet.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Puller avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
McKraken waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Puller.

McKraken shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Puller napping and manages to drive through into side control!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Puller is trying to get back to his feet.
McKraken wants to control but Puller is keeping him busy.
Puller pushes McKraken away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, McKraken gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

That's one minute gone in the round.
McKraken throws an elbow but Puller slips to the side and avoids it well.
McKraken lands a few punches from side control.
McKraken cracks Puller with an elbow. That is naaassty.
Puller told us pre-fight that he has been working on his escapes in training. Let's see if he can call on some of his new skills to get back to his feet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Puller wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
Puller is not content to let McKraken control the position.
Puller is looking to work his way out of this bad position but McKraken is controlling him well.
Puller taking punishment in the form of punches.
Puller parries the strikes from McKraken easily there. McKraken is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Puller to escape.
Puller is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but McKraken has just dragged him back down to the mat.
McKraken lands a few punches from side control.
Puller is not content to let McKraken control the position.
McKraken lands a decent elbow from side control.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
McKraken postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.

McKraken has hold of Puller's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Puller seems comfortable defending it but McKraken has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Puller is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Puller is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but McKraken couldn't care less - he's delighted!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:17 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Gemechu McKraken!
Gemechu McKraken was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
