McCarty shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Sasaki pinned against the ropes. Sasaki gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Sasaki lands a big head kick that sends McCarty tumbling to the mat! Sasaki takes a step backwards and waves McCarty back to his feet - he wants the finish!

Sasaki takes the fight into the clinch.
Sasaki told us before the fight that he's been working on his elbows. An under utilised technique these days - let's see if it can sway the outcome of the fight.

McCarty has Sasaki pressed up against the ropes and is working for takedown. Sasaki manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Sasaki has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of McCarty is proving hard to escape from.
Sasaki stands up and waves to McCarty to follow him.
Sasaki bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps McCarty's head backwards.
Sasaki lands a big uppercut and McCarty crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but McCarty looks OK. Sasaki waves McCarty back to his feet!
Jeez, Darren McCarty's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.
