Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Red John (ranked 5014 p4p, 6845 weight class) and Jacob Murphy (ranked 588 p4p, 660 weight class). The key to victory for Red John has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Red John! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Jacob Murphy! The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Don Winkell and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! The bell rings for round one and we are underway! John throws a wild body kick that Murphy sees coming a mile off. John throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. John throws a lazy head kick so Murphy counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. John is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Murphy is controlling him. Murphy showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Murphy wants to stand but John is controlling his posture from full guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Murphy is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. John keeping full guard, as Murphy tries to pass.
That's one minute gone in the round. Murphy throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as John works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Murphy trying to control but John is working from the bottom. John is looking to stand up but Murphy isn't so interested in that idea.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. John connects with an inside leg kick. A head kick misses from John. Murphy looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for John! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The referee asks Murphy politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Murphy prefers to stall for the moment though. John wants to get back to his feet. Murphy staying calm.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Murphy is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, John has escaped the position, nice work there. John is wriggling around trying to escape but Murphy has hooked up a rear naked choke! Is it over??? Is it... you're damn right it is! John taps out and Murphy picks up the big win! Great work there by Murphy!
