Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Paul Costa (ranked 25723 p4p, 6190 weight class) and Johnny McCain (ranked 671 p4p, 599 weight class). Both fighters really staring each other down here, as Johnny McCain enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Paul Costa ! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Johnny McCain! The judges for this bout are Roger Salmon, Ryoma Takatsuka and Colin Fray.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! The bell rings for round one and we are underway! McCain tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him. Costa lands with a shot to the body. McCain fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Costa avoids it really well and circles away. McCain closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. McCain is working for a submission of some sort.
Costa might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. McCain looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
McCain decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up. McCain has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
That's one minute gone in the round. Excellent takedown into side control there by Costa . McCain is looking to regain half guard here but Costa keeps moving and retains side control. Costa in side control lands a decent elbow. McCain regains half guard. Costa with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's two minutes gone in the round. McCain wants to improve his position but Costa is controlling well.
Costa looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. McCain tries to roll over but Costa keeps him under control. McCain trying to control here.
Costa is stalling here. McCain is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Costa seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and McCain has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work. McCain taking a breather here.
That's three minutes gone in the round. McCain creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots. Costa is looking for a sweep. Costa looking for a sweep but McCain has passed into full mount! Oh no! McCain looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet. McCain swings around for an armbar and he's got it! Wow, that came out of nowhere! What a finish!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Johnny McCain! A very excited looking Johnny McCain rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
