Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Manny Duran (ranked 6564 p4p, 7564 weight class) and Jimmy Murphy (ranked 669 p4p, 720 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Manny Duran! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Jimmy Murphy! The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, Eddie Farnsworth and Dean Styles.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Murphy fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Duran manages to avoid it. Duran looks to score with a jab to the body but Murphy is just out of range. A looping hook to the body misses from Murphy. Duran does a little dance to reset his feet. Murphy misses the jab. Duran throws a chopping leg kick but Murphy manages to avoid taking any serious damage. Duran uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Murphy.
Duran throws a right hand that Murphy ducks under and follows up with a left that Murphy also avoids with ease. A little jabbing left from Murphy on the counter but it doesn't find it's target. Duran with a body punch. A glancing blow. Duran throws a series of punches but Murphy moves out of range. Murphy feints the counter takedown. Duran swinging wildly here.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Duran swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Murphy fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Murphy moves out of range of the leg kick from Duran. Murphy connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.

Murphy is looking for the big counter here. Duran tries to land a leg kick but Murphy saw it coming and moves away.

Murphy connects with a right hand. Duran shakes it off. Duran lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Murphy circles away quickly and effectively. Manny Duran seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Murphy moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination. We've been hearing reports that Duran has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Duran walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. Duran just misses with a punch to the body.

and Murphy counters with a three punch combo that has Duran backing up. Duran nods at Murphy to acknowledge the strikes. Duran is breathing heavily. A jab lands there for Murphy. Duran is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot. Murphy lands a nice shot to the body.

Despite the aggression on Murphy's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter. Duran on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot. Duran drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
It looks like Manny Duran has been cut. Nice body punch from Murphy. Jab from Murphy. Duran drops his hands momentarily and Murphy takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. Duran on the wrong end of a nice jab. Duran takes one to the chin there.

Murphy throws a right hand that Duran ducks under and follows up with a left that Duran also avoids with ease. A low kick from Duran misses and Murphy counters with a stiff right hand. Murphy lands a lovely overhand right. Duran takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Murphy bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Duran's head backwards. Murphy stalks Duran and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Duran's face. Duran staggers backwards, shaken. Murphy has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight. Murphy dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Duran takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Murphy feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Durans jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist! Murphy works over Duran's head and body with a nice combination. Duran shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. Murphy scores with a hook. Murphy has been working his punching technique in the buildup to the fight and it appears to be paying off. Duran throws a head kick that misses and Murphy counters with a left to the body.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Duran takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Duran walks into a left hand. Murphy jabs Duran to the body, keeping him at a distance. Nice straight punches there by Murphy. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Murphy. Duran's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Murphy connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Duran scrambles back to his feet. Murphy connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head. Duran drops his hands momentarily and Murphy takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. Murphy throws a combination. Duran tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
Duran is rocked! Duran wants to slow Murphy down by chopping away at his legs. Oh Duran is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Duran keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Duran seems to have got his legs back now. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Duran throws a right and a left that Murphy avoids nicely. A countering left hand to the body from Murphy misses. Murphy lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Duran at a distance.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jimmy Murphy dominated that round. The cut man is working on Manny Duran's cut. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. Duran is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Murphy. Duran takes one on the chin but seems OK.

and Murphy cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Murphy smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button. Duran throws a body shot but no joy. Duran throws a combination that misses and Murphy counters with a lovely straight right hand! A low kick from Duran is predictable there and Murphy counters with a straight right hand. Murphy digs a good body shot into Duran's ribs. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Duran throws a leg kick and Murphy counters with a shoot takedown. Duran fights it but they end up in guard. Murphy slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Murphy slips nicely into half guard.

Murphy lands a nice short elbow. Murphy has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Murphy slips a nice elbow through Duran's hands, connecting with Duran's forehead. Murphy performing his best blanket impression for a moment.
