Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jack Shellenberger (ranked 4014 p4p, 7264 weight class) and Van Duong (ranked 517 p4p, 680 weight class). Shellenberger's entrance music is Can't be touched. A fine choice. Duong has chosen Tyron Woodley as his entrance music. Van Duong will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Duong really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Shellenberger. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Duong is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Duong lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Duong clobbers Shellenberger with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Duong enables Shellenberger to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Duong manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Duong is wriggling around but Shellenberger manages to pass to half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Shellenberger seems to be working for a kimura but Duong defends the submission attempt.
Shellenberger drops an elbow to the side of Duong's head.

Shellenberger is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Duong is just riding it out for now. Shellenberger eventually gives up the hold.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Shellenberger is trying to control the action in half guard but Duong is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Duong is trying to maintain the position but Shellenberger is very close to passing his half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Shellenberger thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Duong's head.
