The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mirchoffski drives through with a takedown into guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Mirchoffski is working Lisnar over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Mirchoffski in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Mirchoffski might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Mirchoffski content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Mirchoffski's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Mirchoffski has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Mirchoffski stands up over Lisnar, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Mirchoffski throwing strikes from guard but Lisnar blocks nicely. Lisnar working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Mirchoffski. Mirchoffski thows a big elbow that misses. Lisnar really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Mirchoffski. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Mirchoffski missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Mirchoffski is looking to work some ground and pound but Lisnar has wrist control. Mirchoffski trying to stand up but can't free himself from Lisnar's guard. Lisnar controlling Mirchoffski's posture. Lisnar is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Mirchoffski is controlling him.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Lisnar shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Mirchoffski's guard. Lisnar trying to control but Mirchoffski is working from the bottom. Mirchoffski looking to hit a scissor sweep but Lisnar is one step ahead there. Lisnar trying to control but Mirchoffski is working from the bottom. Mirchoffski trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from! Lisnar trying to control but Mirchoffski is working from the bottom. Mirchoffski trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage. Mirchoffski lands some strikes from the bottom. Mirchoffski throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Lisnar takes a decent strike to the side of the head. Lisnar makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Lisnar looking to pass the guard. Lisnar trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Mirchoffski will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.

Lisnar stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Mirchoffski swivels though and keeps the full guard. Mirchoffski doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Lisnar fails with the takedown and Mirchoffski counters with a takedown into side control. Lisnar looks gassed! Mirchoffski scoring with punches and elbows.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Lisnar is looking for a sweep. Lisnar on the wrong end of some ground and pound. Lisnar wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done! Mirchoffski in side control lands a decent elbow. Mirchoffski cracks Lisnar with a big right hand but Lisnar just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Mirchoffski stands up. Excellent takedown into side control there by Mirchoffski. Mirchoffski could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Mirchoffski scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Lisnar to see if he's OK.
Lisnar is rocked! Mirchoffski cracks Lisnar with a big elbow. Oh, he's hurt! Mirchoffski immediately mounts and start dropping bombs! Lisnar is done! The referee jumps in and saves him from any more punishment - a quick and decisive finish by Mirchoffski!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:01 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Yurie Mirchoffski!
