Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Sam Spencer (ranked 6241 p4p, 3971 weight class) and Joshua Brown (ranked 575 p4p, 456 weight class). Brown is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Hail Mary Tupac. Joshua Brown told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 11 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Sam Spencer! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 10 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Joshua Brown! The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, George Francis and Stewart Dunkirk.

Brown darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Brown prevents Spencer from standing back up.
Spencer won't allow Brown to pass to mount. Spencer on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Spencer tries to get out of the position. Spencer pushes Brown off looking to stand but Brown dives back in and keeps control.

Brown wants to work for an arm triangle but Spencer is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Brown is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Spencer is just riding it out for now. Brown eventually gives up the hold. Brown controlling the action here. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Brown looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Brown is looking to take a break and control but Spencer is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Brown is pressing down on Spencer's thigh, looking to free his foot. Spencer is holding on for now. Spencer is trying to stand.

 The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Donk. Spencer catches Brown right on the button with a cross. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Brown is defended easily by Spencer. Brown takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Brown tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Spencer defends well and Brown ends up having to push Spencer into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Spencer moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
 It looks like Joshua Brown has been cut. Spencer connects with a jab and follows up with a big overhand right! Oh that's hurt Brown! He's out on his feet! Spencer rushes in and drops Brown with another big right hand, forcing the referee to stop the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Sam Spencer! A relieved looking Sam Spencer thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it. Joshua Brown spoke after the fight, saying 'I will learn from this!!'.
