Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Dirk James (ranked 5111 p4p, 5011 weight class) and Ranger Alderidge (ranked 606 p4p, 602 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 1 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Dirk James! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Ranger Alderidge! The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Jack Bonds and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! The bell rings for round one and we are underway! James lands a leg kick that knocks Alderidge off balance momentarily. James tries to land a leg kick but Alderidge saw it coming and moves away.
Alderidge changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt. A kick lands to the mid section there for James. James slips under a jab. James pushes Alderidge away with a front kick. James scoring well with a low kick there.
James moves into range and lands a nice body kick.
A slapping leg kick lands for James.
Alderidge closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Alderidge lands in his opponent's guard. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! James pulls Alderidge in close to prevent any damage. James controls Alderidge momentarily but Alderidge frees himself.
That's one minute gone in the round. Alderidge not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. James keeping full guard, as Alderidge tries to pass. James is trying to control the position but Alderidge postures up. Alderidge tries to free his leg and advance position but James is retaining full guard.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Alderidge shoots in and drives through. James sprawls well.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. A low kick from James misses and Alderidge counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Alderidge. James keeping moving, preventing Alderidge from controlling successfully. Alderidge loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Alderidge wants to pass the guard but James is keeping the position. Alderidge slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. James can't keep his opponent in guard - Alderidge advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. James is staying active underneath Alderidge, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Ranger Alderidge. I think Alderidge has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
