Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ted Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vladimir Putin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ted Johnson could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Vladimir Putin's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Ted Johnson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Vladimir Putin! The judges for this bout are Igor Prikhodko, Vladimir Khabensky and Aleksei Zolotukhin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Putin. Putin is looking to land body kicks. Putin gets caught flat footed, as Johnson shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Johnson not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Johnson wants to control from the top but Putin keeps moving. Johnson thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Johnson postures up.
Johnson landing with the ground and pound. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Johnson accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Johnson prevents Putin from getting back to his feet. Putin really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Johnson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Johnson is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
That's one minute gone in the round. Putin is trying to control the position but Johnson postures up. Johnson lands a couple of decent looking shots. Johnson is working Putin over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Johnson is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Putin can do anything to dispel that myth. Putin trying to control the position.
Johnson is working Putin over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Johnson stands and throws Putin's legs to the side, diving into side control. Johnson is trying to get an arm triangle but Putin is defending well. Putin is not in a great position here, taking some shots. Johnson is breathing heavily. Johnson working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter. You can see the frustration on Putin's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Johnson scores with a couple of short elbows. Johnson is looking to take a break and control but Putin is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Putin can't do much from the bottom here. Putin tries to escape but Johnson is in control. Putin managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Johnson.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Johnson looks to throw the jab but Putin is out of range. Johnson avoids the head kick by Putin.
Ted Johnson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Johnson looks for a takedown but Putin sprawls well. Putin stuffs the takedown.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Putin tries to close the distance and clinch up but Johnson swats him away and circles back towards the center. Johnson keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Putin tries to clinch but Johnson moves out of range. Putin closes the distance and clinches up with Johnson, looking for a takedown. Putin pushes Johnson against the cage but Johnson circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Ted Johnson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Vladimir Putin. Putin misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Putin throws a shot to the body.
Johnson blocks the body kick.
Putin tries to close the distance and clinch up but Johnson swats him away and circles back towards the center. Johnson walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. Johnson checks a low kick from Putin. Putin fails with an attempt to clinch.
A telegraphed right hand from Johnson misses the target. Putin is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Putin tries to clinch but Johnson moves out of range. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Ted Johnson dominated that round. That's time! Johnson's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Putin tries to clinch up. Putin fails with a takedown attempt. Johnson misses with a wild combination.
Putin doesn't manage to clinch there - Johnson circles away.
Johnson changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Putin tries to avoid it but Johnson manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Putin to the ground. Putin escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Johnson shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Putin pinned against the cage. Putin gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Johnson misses with a few strikes there.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Putin gets in close and instigates a clinch. Putin stalling the fight.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Putin drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Johnson gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Putin lands with a good tight uppercut to the head. Putin tries for a takedown. No joy.
Ted Johnson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Vladimir Putin.
That's one minute gone in the round. Putin breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Putin shoots in looking for a takedown. Johnson tries to sprawl out of it but Putin keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Johnson manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Putin is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Johnson tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Putin swivels and escapes. The crowd cheers as Putin lands an impressive looking overhand right. Johnson doesn't seem phased though. Putin gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Johnson avoids the elbow strike from Putin, against the cage.
Putin throws a head punch that misses. With the two fighters working up against the cage, Putin just misses with a elbow thrown towards Johnson's brow. Putin breaks the clinch.
Putin goes for a spinning back kick but it misses. Johnson misses with the combination.
Putin misses with a takedown attempt and Johnson counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Johnson throwing strikes but missing.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Johnson throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Putin trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage. Putin wants to get back to his feet but Johnson is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Johnson throws a strike but Putin rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Johnson has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Putin trying to control the position from guard on top but Johnson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Johnson manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Putin is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Putin might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Johnson kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. Johnson landing strikes from the mount and Putin is in trouble! Putin regains half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Putin wants to get back to his feet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Johnson seems to be looking for submissions.
Putin taking some punishment here, with Johnson in his half guard. Johnson is thwarting Putin's attempts to control the position. Johnson looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Johnson throwing shots but Putin is blocking nicely. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Ted Johnson dominated that second round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!
Putin looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Johnson slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Putin trying to control the position from guard on top but Johnson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Putin must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Johnson is pulling down on Putin's head. It's preventing any offense from Putin, at least for the moment. Putin stopping the sweep attempt from Johnson. Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Johnson has his feet on Putin's thighs here. He's pushed Putin off and worked for a very quick armbar from the bottom! He's flipped onto his stomach and he's cranking hard on the arm! Putin screams in pain and taps out! This one is all over!
