In the red corner, competing out of London, with a TWGC record of 4 wins and 1 losses; Hugo Boss! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Las Vegas, with a TWGC record of 38 wins and 23 losses; Helio Kimura!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Frank Dennis and Chris Downing.


The fighters connect hands in the middle of the mat and we are under way.

Boss shoots in for a takedown and gets it.

Boss has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Kimura is looking for a sweep. Boss is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Boss takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Boss controlling the position well here. Kimura rolled but Boss kept the hooks locked in and stayed in the dominant position.

Boss working for a choke but Kimura is defending well.
Boss just keeping the dominant position. He can't wait too long though, otherwise the referee will stand them back up.
Boss tries to get the hooks in deep but Kimura pushed the leg off.

Kimura staying busy and making it hard for Boss to control.
Boss is controlling the position but Kimura somehow manages to roll and ends up with half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Boss seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

Boss looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

Kimura has his hands clasped together around Boss's back. He's all about the action.
Boss moves into full mount! Kimura won't be happy about that!

Boss seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Kimura for as long as he can get away with.

Kimura is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Kimura tries to lock up and control but Boss gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Boss can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Kimura is looking to escape.

Boss moves to his opponent's back but Kimura bucks him off and ends up in guard. A bit of a disaster there for Boss.

Boss is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Boss is just content to waste time from the top position. Kimura takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Our spies down at at Hell's Balls Gym inform us that Kimura has really been working on his submissions in the buildup to this fight. Will it pay off?
