Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Rip Snorten (ranked 2027 p4p, 1064 weight class) and CJ Johnson (ranked 292 p4p, 168 weight class). Snorten kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Sound of Silence. Johnson has chosen Relentless - Slayer as his entrance music. Rip Snorten had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 26 - 21 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Rip Snorten! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 12 - 8 - 0, fighting out of London, CJ Johnson! The judges for this bout are George Francis, Daniel Franklin and Tiny Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A big left from Snorten misses. Snorten scores with a jab to the body. Snorten swats away the attempt to clinch by Johnson. Snorten has managed to clinch.
Snorten can't find room to land a body shot as Johnson controls the action.
Snorten works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard. Snorten working some strikes from top position. Johnson throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
Snorten definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Johnson doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.

Snorten is working Johnson over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Snorten distracts Johnson with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Snorten's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Snorten works over Johnson with some ground and pound from guard.
Johnson is rocked! The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Snorten lands a couple of decent looking shots. Johnson is still in real trouble! Can Snorten finish him? Snorten is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Johnson trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage. Snorten stopping the sweep attempt from Johnson. Johnson striking off his back but it's not causing Snorten any problems. Johnson can't keep his opponent in guard - Snorten advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Johnson punching from the bottom.

That's one minute gone in the round. Snorten lands with a punch from half guard. Snorten drops an elbow to the side of Johnson's head. Johnson wants to improve his position but Snorten is controlling well.
Snorten passes the guard and advances to mount! Johnson has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Snorten postures up and throws a couple of big shots that have Johnson in real trouble here! The ref calls for Johnson to improve his position which he doesn't do, so the referee has no choice but to end the fight due to the strikes!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:27 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Rip Snorten! After the big win, Rip Snorten made sure to do all the important stuff like thanking his sponsors Fenrir Fightgear - Anno 2013 and telling the interviewer how much he loves him.
