PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between No Way (ranked 1691 p4p, 3689 weight class) and Chase Fuchs (ranked 208 p4p, 434 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Chase Fuchs was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, No Way!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Chase Fuchs!
The judges for this bout are Viktor Lagutenko, Aleksandr Martynov and Fedor Mirinova.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Fuchs shoots for a double leg takedown but Way sprawls well. He's pushed Fuchs's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Fuchs has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Way stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.

Fuchs closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Way's guard.
Way will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Fuchs stands and throws Way's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Way managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Fuchs.

The referee is taking a good look at Way as he is on the wrong end of some big shots from Fuchs!

A close round but Chase Fuchs will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Way uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Fuchs.
No Way is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Fuchs shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Way pinned against the cage. Way gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Way seems to have improved his submission grappling technique since last time we saw him. Let's see if he can pull off a submission.

Chase Fuchs comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Fuchs winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
