PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Kree P Krawlee (ranked 1872 p4p, 1187 weight class) and Paulo Gentil (ranked 229 p4p, 154 weight class). Krawlee comes to the cage accompanied by Sail. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Gentil connects with a crisp jab.

Krawlee attempts a counter takedown but Gentil avoids it well and moves away.

Krawlee shoots for a double leg takedown but Gentil sprawls well. He's pushed Krawlee's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Krawlee shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Gentil is trying to defend but Krawlee finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Krawlee is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Gentil defends it well.
Krawlee wants to pass to mount but Gentil is defending the position.
Gentil really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Krawlee. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Krawlee is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Gentil has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Gentil!

Gentil felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.
