Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Trevon Willis (ranked 4129 p4p, 6337 weight class) and Paulo Henriques (ranked 393 p4p, 484 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Trevon Willis! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Paulo Henriques! The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Tiny Johnson and Wesley Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A combination from Willis does no damage. A slow jab from Henriques misses its intended target. Willis went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected. Willis rushes Henriques and presses him up against the cage. Henriques content to slow the pace in the clinch.
Willis tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Henriques smiles and moves away.
Willis attempts a low kick but it misses it's target. Henriques looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple. Willis uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Henriques.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Henriques has Willis pressed against the cage.
Henriques continues to stall. The referee tells him to work or he's going to break them up. Willis tries to pull guard but Henriques holds him up against the cage and eventually Willis drops back down to his feet.

Willis is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Henriques gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. Henriques's coach down at Brazilian Top Team + Ricardo Arona was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Henriques's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Trevon Willis. That's going to take a lot out of him. Henriques scores a nice knee to the body.

Henriques closes the distance and pushes Willis back into the cage. Henriques gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.

Paulo Henriques seems to be working more effectively in the clinch in the fight so far. Willis tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Willis is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Henriques pulls him back up using the underhooks. Willis tries to pull guard but Henriques forces him back to his feet, against the cage. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Paulo Henriques showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Trevon Willis's cut. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! And we move into the final round!

It looks like Paulo Henriques has been cut. The fight moves into the clinch position. Henriques will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Willis up against the cage.

Henriques makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut. Willis blocks an uppercut.
The referee is keeping an eye on Henriques - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.

The ref breaks the fighters up, due to lack of action by Paulo Henriques. Willis closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Henriques quickly recovers to half guard. Willis stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Henriques to get to his feet. Willis feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Henriques takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Henriques seems keen to control Willis's posture. Paulo Henriques is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Willis slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Willis landing with the ground and pound. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Henriques trying to keep a closed guard but Willis is proving a slippery customer.
Willis drops back looking for a leg! Henriques is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Henriques manages to kick Willis off! Willis jumps back into Henriques's guard.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Trevon Willis. I think Henriques has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
