Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Manuel Cristos (ranked 6733 p4p, 4779 weight class) and Ubaldo Cortez (ranked 628 p4p, 531 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the ring.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 1 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Manuel Cristos! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ubaldo Cortez! The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, James Atkins and Sam Margolis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cortez keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Cortez throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Cristos counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Cristos. The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch. Cristos holding his opponent close, against the ropes.
A battle for position here, against the ropes. Cristos manages to pull guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Cristos is adopting a defensive guard. Cortez pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Cristos is keeping the position for now. Cortez trying to control but Cristos is working from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. Cristos looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it. Cristos keeping moving, preventing Cortez from controlling successfully. Cristos looking to hit a scissor sweep but Cortez is one step ahead there. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Cristos is on top in guard.
Cortez tries to land a sweep but no joy. Cristos tries to free his leg and advance position but Cortez is retaining full guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Cristos controls from within his opponent's guard. Cristos trying to control but Cortez is working from the bottom. Cristos passes easily into side control. Nice work. Cristos is looking to take a break and control but Cortez is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
That's three minutes gone in the round. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Cortez can do anything to dispel that myth. Cristos tries to advance to mount but can't. Cristos working away. Cristos content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though. Cristos wants to lay and pray for a moment but Cortez keeps working. Cristos just content to control the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Cortez wants to control but Cristos postures up. Cristos trying to control the position but Cortez is working away.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Cortez throws a body shot but no joy. Cristos misses with a low kick as Cortez jumps back. Ubaldo Cortez is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. A looping hook to the body misses from Cortez. Cristos does a little dance to reset his feet. Cortez throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Cristos cracks a nice hook into Cortez's ribs. We've been told by Cristos's head coaches at Primal Concrete Gym that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Cristos shoots in but Cortez avoids the takedown attempt easily. Cortez steps in looking to clinch after the strikes miss from Cristos.
And that's the end of the fight! Manuel Cristos showed his dominance in that final round. I think Cristos has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
