Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Mika Abreu!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

Cruz leaves Abreu with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Abreu shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Cruz pinned against the cage. Cruz gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mika Abreu. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Cruz jabs Abreu right on the nose. Abreu blinks but takes it well.
Abreu shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Cruz sprawls well. Cruz wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Abreu gets slowly back to his feet.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Abreu with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Cruz to score with a decent uppercut.
Abreu looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Cruz is fending him off so far but Abreu persists. Nope, Cruz circles away and we're back to standing.
Cruz wants to counter with a clinch but Abreu pushes him away.

Cruz lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.

Cruz lands a big uppercut and Abreu crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Abreu looks OK. Cruz waves Abreu back to his feet!
Abreu is rocked!

Cruz fires a straight punch through the middle that cracks Abreu square on the jaw! Damn, Abreu is out cold on his feet and topples face first to the canvas! Wow, I haven't seen a knockout that brutal in a long time!
