The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Seu Braga and Felipe Paraventi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Marcos shoots in and bounces Nunes off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Nunes looking to hit a scissor sweep but Marcos is one step ahead there.
Marcos stands up from guard. Let's bang!

Nunes tries to pass to full mount but Marcos defends it.
Marcos wants to get back to his feet.
Nunes wants to take a breather but Marcos is having none of it.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Nunes lands a glancing blow to the side of Marcos's head.

and Nunes counters with a shoot takedown. Marcos fights it but they end up in guard.
Gabriel Nunes has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tacio Marcos.
Nunes thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Nice sprawl there from Marcos as Nunes shoots in.

Marcos shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Marcos showed some decent athleticism there.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Marcos tries to stand and escape but Nunes is controlling the position.
Nunes looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Marcos prevents Nunes from improving his position.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Nunes avoids the head kick by Marcos.
Marcos throws a sloppy head kick and Nunes moves out of range easily.
Nunes shoots in looking for a takedown. Marcos tries to sprawl out of it but Nunes keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Marcos manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Marcos drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Marcos decides to stand back up.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Nunes fails with the takedown.

Nunes wants to stand but Marcos has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Nunes is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a tringle but Marcos frees his head nicely. Oh but Nunes has switched to an armbar! Marcos is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
