Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kent Frederick (ranked 6853 p4p, 6901 weight class) and Hector Rodriquez (ranked 536 p4p, 537 weight class). Kent Frederick had real problems making weight for this fight. After initially coming in at 266.7lbs, he had two hours to make the official fight weight. He made it but it will have taken a lot out of him to cut those extra few pounds. Hector Rodriquez has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Kent Frederick's chin.

That was a close round but I would say that Kent Frederick will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Frederick is trying to control the action in half guard but Rodriquez is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Rodriquez pushes Frederick off and gets back to his feet.
Rodriquez stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Frederick closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Rodriquez to the mat! Rodriquez manages to get full guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Rodriquez bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Frederick's guard.

Frederick tries to close the distance and clinch but Rodriquez swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

We've been informed that Rodriquez has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.
Frederick closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Rodriquez lands with a nice combination. Frederick backs away looking to recover.

The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Rodriquez. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.
