Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between John Lock (ranked 787 p4p, 1174 weight class) and Steve Broadbent (ranked 110 p4p, 173 weight class). John Lock has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, John Lock! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Steve Broadbent! The judges for this bout are Winston Alpacca, David Hoff and Dirk Anderson.

Lock striking off his back but it's not causing Broadbent any problems. Lock seems to have improved his submission grappling technique since last time we saw him. You can't force these things though and Broadbent defends well. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Lock is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. That's one minute gone in the round. Broadbent trying to control but Lock is working from the bottom. Broadbent is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Broadbent is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Lock working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Broadbent doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Broadbent manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Broadbent tries to free his leg and advance position but Lock is retaining full guard. Broadbent cracks Lock with a solid left hand. Broadbent working some strikes from top position. Broadbent wants to control from the top but Lock keeps moving. Broadbent scoring with punches to the head and body. In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Broadbent working his ground and pound in the gym. So far it seems to be working well. Broadbent must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Broadbent sitting in guard here, content to control. Lock has his foot on Broadbent's thigh.
