Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Sami Steele (ranked 713 p4p, 1418 weight class) and Danny Wood (ranked 90 p4p, 162 weight class). Wood is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Notorious B.I.G - Hypnotyze. Danny Wood has the eye of the tiger tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 11 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Sami Steele! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 12 - 7 - 0, fighting out of London, Danny Wood! The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Wesley Smith and Tiny Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Wood moves out of range of the strikes. Sami Steele seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Steele throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one. Wood tries to clinch up. Steele was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit. Wood misses with the combination.
Steele scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent. Steele throws a right hand that Wood ducks under and follows up with a left that Wood also avoids with ease.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Steele wants to land a leg kick but Wood is out of range. Despite the aggression on Wood's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter. Steele stuns Wood with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. Steele rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Wood counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Steele drives through and clinches with Wood against the cage.

A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors. Steele stalls. Still in the clinch, Steele scores with a nice short uppercut. Steele misses with a punch to the body.
Wood throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Steele blocks it with crossed arms. Steele tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Wood misses with a knee to the head. Wood tries a knee to the head but Steele blocks it.

Steele pushes Wood back against the cage and unloads with a body punch. Steele lands with a short punch from the clinch.
Steele's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Steele throws a right hand that misses
and Wood counters with a two punch combo. A left lands for Steele. Wood slips a straight right by Steele. Steele backing away here, and Wood unleashes a leg kick that just misses. Steele throws a body punch but Wood moves out of range. A nice side step and Wood releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home. A big left from Steele misses. Wood works Steele's body with a nice hook. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Steele jabbing away but nothing is landing. Steele throws a big shot that misses. Steele throws out a powerful jab. Steele connects with a right hand. Wood shakes it off. Steele lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Wood slips under a jab from Steele. Wood fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Steele manages to avoid it. Steele cracks Wood with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.

It looked like Steele wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit. Steele scores with a punch to the head. Wood throws a nice looking combination but Steele bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Wood throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land. Steele swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect. A big right from Steele misses. Wood replies with a solid counter kick to the body but Steele blocks it well. Wood slips a straight right by Steele. Steele blocks a leg kick. Wood throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Steele stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Steele scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Wood connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. Wood avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Wood walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. Steele throws a poor cross that misses
letting Wood counter with a right hand. Danny Wood is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Steele swats away the attempt to clinch by Wood. Steele looked to counter that last move with a leg kick but didn't pull the trigger. Steele lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Steele wants to slow Wood down by chopping away at his legs.

Wood staying out of range there. Steele throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Wood tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Steele paws at him with a jab and circles away. Steele scores with a nice head shot. Steele lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin. Steele avoids the body shot from Wood.

Wood looks like he wanted to counter with a high kick but didn't throw it. Wood connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Steele's hands. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Wood slips under a jab from Steele. As Steele backs off Wood throws a huge counter combo but Steele manages to avoid it all. and Wood takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Steele circles away from the clinch attempt.
An attempted straight right counter from Steele misses the target. Steele throws a hook but Wood blocks it. It seemed like Wood was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it. The fighters circling - Wood throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Steele dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Wood. That did some damage! Sami Steele is winning the standup battle so far. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Wood throws a leg kick which misses Steele's front leg but catches the back leg as Steele tries to avoid it.

A close third round but Danny Wood just about did enough to take it. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! Wood throws an off balance right hand

He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those. Wood clinches. Steele blocks an elbow strike. Steele manages to break the clinch.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Wood, as that shot connected.
Wood will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Steele takes a swing at Wood's ribcage but misses. Wood takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor. Steele throws a right hand that misses
and Wood counters with a lovely straight right hand! Steele keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Wood. Steele ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Steele throws a leg kick and Wood counters with a three punch combo that has Steele backing up. Steele nods at Wood to acknowledge the strikes. Wood displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Steele throws out the jab. Wood throws a low kick but Steele moves out of range easily. Wood walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. Wood takes one to the side of the head.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Wood ducks right into an uppercut from Steele. A slow jab from Steele misses its intended target. Wood lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close fourth round but Danny Wood will probably get the nod - 10:9. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round! Wood uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Steele. Steele throws a hook to the side of Wood's head but Wood sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. As Steele backs off Wood throws a huge counter combo but Steele manages to avoid it all. Steele lands an overhand right. Some wild striking there from Wood.

Wood goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Steele swings widly with a right hand

Steele is rocked! Wood looks to land a combination but Steele avoids it well. Oh Steele is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Wood keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Steele. Wood tries to counter by closing the distance. Wood throws a series of punches but Steele avoids them all with ease. and Steele counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Wood is lucky that one didn't land flush.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Danny Wood. I think Wood has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
