Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ceder Randal (ranked 5760 p4p, 5117 weight class) and Sven Polka (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Randal comes to the cage accompanied by Spoonman. Sven Polka will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Sven Polka!

Polka drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

Polka loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Randal is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Polka defends well.

Randal is keen to just control but Polka is a slippery customer.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Polka tries to roll over but Randal keeps him under control.

Randal looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Polka is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Randal 's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Randal 's back!

Polka postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Sven Polka showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Polka moves in looking to clinch but Randal pushes him off.

Polka shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Randal 's guard.
Polka wants to control from the top but Randal keeps moving.
Polka might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Randal haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Polka postures up in Randal 's guard and throws a big left but Randal blocks it.
Polka has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Polka drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Randal manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Polka has Randal in his guard.

Randal is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Polka knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Randal is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.

Sven Polka is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Well Polka has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
