Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Santino Lombardo (ranked 8 p4p, 95 weight class) and Julio Regueiro (ranked 2 p4p, 13 weight class). Lombardo comes to the cage accompanied by Illusions. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 18 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Santino Lombardo!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 20 - 10 - 1, fighting out of New York, Julio Regueiro!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Don Winkell and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Regueiro fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Lombardo manages to avoid it.
Lombardo throws a shot from downtown. Regueiro moves away and avoids it.
Regueiro doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter.
Regueiro swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Regueiro avoids a kick to the body.
Regueiro lands a head kick!

Regueiro lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.
Lombardo pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Lombardo pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
It seemed like Regueiro was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Lombardo has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Lombardo there as he acknowledges the shot.

Lombardo has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Dr Hatsumi's Clinic in the buildup to the fight.

Regueiro throws a body punch but Lombardo moves out of range.
Lombardo feinted there with a counter leg kick.
Lombardo looks for the body kick but Regueiro saw that one coming.

Regueiro fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Lombardo is out of range.

Regueiro sizes up Lombardo with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Lombardo blocks a head kick by Regueiro.

and Lombardo counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Lombardo throws a low kick but it's checked well by Regueiro.
Lombardo looks to score with a jab to the body but Regueiro is just out of range.
Regueiro misses with a kick to the body.
As Regueiro backs away, Lombardo returns fire with a leg kick that just misses.
Regueiro clinches with his opponent.
Regueiro jumps guard but Lombardo stands there with Regueiro around his waist. Regueiro gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Lombardo lands a left hand.
A right hook to the body lands for Regueiro.
Nice body punch from Lombardo.
Lombardo throws a punch but it's blocked by Regueiro.
Lombardo gets through Regueiro's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Regueiro is trying to pull guard but Lombardo turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Regueiro gets control of Lombardo's arms and successfully pulls guard. Regueiro will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Lombardo has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Regueiro is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Regueiro escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Lombardo gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Regueiro is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Lombardo defends well.
Lombardo tries to free his leg and advance position but Regueiro is retaining full guard.

Regueiro keeping moving, preventing Lombardo from controlling successfully.
Regueiro has his foot on Lombardo's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Lombardo works his way back into a safe position though.
Lombardo is stalling in the full guard.
Lombardo's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
This is a sustained period of stalling by Lombardo.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Regueiro keeping full guard, as Lombardo tries to pass.
Lombardo got a little sloppy there for a moment and Regueiro has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Lombardo has managed to get both his arms back between Regueiro's legs - danger averted.
Regueiro is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Lombardo is aware though and is defending well.
Regueiro wants to sweep but no luck.
Regueiro is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Lombardo rolls with it to try and escape but Regueiro cranks on the arm and Lombardo is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!

Julio Regueiro bigged himself up after the win. The crowd seemed to love it.
