Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Stefan De Jong (ranked 2422 p4p, 3930 weight class) and Jorgens Vergys (ranked 304 p4p, 472 weight class). De Jong comes to the cage accompanied by Nipsey Hussle - I Don't Stress. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Stefan De Jong! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 4 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jorgens Vergys! The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Stewart Dunkirk and Chris Downing.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! The bell rings for round one and we are underway! De Jong closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Vergys did well to prevent De Jong getting side control. De Jong throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Vergys slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. De Jong pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Vergys is keeping the position for now. Vergys striking off his back but it's not causing De Jong any problems. De Jong trying to move into half guard but instead Vergys has managed to sweep! De Jong wants to sweep but no luck. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Vergys being controlled here momentarily. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Vergys landing with the ground and pound.
That's one minute gone in the round. De Jong is pulling down on Vergys's head to control his posture. De Jong tries to land a sweep but no joy. De Jong has Vergys pulled in close to control his posture. Vergys wants to stand but De Jong has a closed guard, so he can't escape. De Jong seems keen to control Vergys's posture.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. De Jong is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. De Jong utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. De Jong lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by De Jong. Vergys throws a right and a left that both miss. De Jong drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. De Jong has an Americana. Vergys didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! De Jong is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if De Jong hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Stefan De Jong! During a confident post fight interview, Stefan De Jong thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
