Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Akeen Coker (ranked 176 p4p, 85 weight class) and Chris Steve (ranked 27 p4p, 14 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

With a record of 39 - 8 - 0, fighting out of London, Chris Steve!
The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, Daniel Bishop and Colin Fotheringham.

Steve fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Coker is out of range.
Steve is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Coker.
Coker takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Steve looks to score with a jab to the body but Coker is just out of range.
Coker connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.

It looks like Chris Steve has been cut.
Coker displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Steve throws out the jab.

Steve is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Coker tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Steve appeared to try and counter that last move with a leg kick.
Coker throws a leg kick that is checked
and Steve counters with a good low kick that Coker was not able to check.
Steve tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
It looked like Coker wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Coker moves away from the strike by Steve.
A little feinted left hand from Coker on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Steve takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
Steve throws a half hearted mid kick.
Coker jabbing away but nothing is landing.
It seemed like Steve was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Steve gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Coker scores with a kick to the body.
Coker swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Steve.
Steve tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.

and Steve counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
It looks like Coker has been trying to sharpen up his punching technique, as it looks crisper than last time we saw him.

Steve throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

Coker looked to counter that last move with a leg kick but didn't pull the trigger.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Coker misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Donk. Steve catches Coker right on the button with a cross.
Steve buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Coker scores with a push kick.
Steve wants to clinch.
Coker on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Coker punishes Steve's body with a nice straight punch.
Coker looks for the body kick but Steve saw that one coming.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Steve has developed a nice purple lump on his ribcage, as a result of some heavy body kicks from Coker.

Steve does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.

Steve closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.

Steve is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Coker rather than just go for the knockout.

Coker ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Steve tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Coker throws a quick counter kick to the body but Steve avoids it.
Both these guys seem content to just stand up and trade with eachother but Steve might want to think about changing up his gameplan a bit because over the course of the fight, Coker has got the better of the exchanges.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Coker.
Coker connects with a right hand. Steve shakes it off.
Coker fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Steve manages to avoid it.
Coker wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Steve checks a low kick from Coker.
Coker walks into a straight right hand from Steve.
Coker takes one to the side of the head.
Coker misses with a lunging right hand
enabling Steve to counter with a crisp jab.

Steve lands a big head kick that sends Coker tumbling to the mat! Steve takes a step backwards and waves Coker back to his feet - he wants the finish!

Coker is rocked!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Steve lands an uppercut, right on the button! Coker tumbles backwards into the cage, staring vacantly into space! He's got no idea where he is, who he is or what day it is... Poor guy.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:59 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Chris Steve!
An out of breath Chris Steve thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
