The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sinclair missing with a left hand there. Beans was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. A head kick misses from Sinclair. Sinclair wants to clinch up but Beans keeps it at a distance. Sinclair misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
A head kick misses from Sinclair. Sinclair misses with a straight right. Beans wants to clinch up but Sinclair keeps it at a distance. Beans tries to clinch there but Sinclair circles away.
Beans moves in looking to clinch but Sinclair pushes him off. Sinclair throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Sinclair checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time. Beans tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Sinclair paws at him with a jab and circles away. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Sinclair throws a jab when Beans was well out of range. Sinclair throws a hook to the side of Beans's head but Beans sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Sinclair tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Beans counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Beans takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sinclair is looking for a sweep. Beans is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Beans seems to be working for a kimura but Sinclair defends the submission attempt. Beans is trying to control. Sinclair wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Sinclair is trying to stand back up but Beans is controlling him

A big right from Sinclair misses. Sinclair avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Beans moves out of range of the strikes. Travis Sinclair seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Sinclair throws a jab when Beans was well out of range. Sinclair throws a sloppy head kick and Beans counters with a single leg into guard. Sinclair didn't expect that. Beans trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Beans passes easily into side control. Nice work. Sinclair is trying to escape the position but Beans is controlling the position. Sinclair tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck. Beans can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Sinclair is looking to escape. Beans is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Sinclair can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

That's one minute gone in the round. Beans landing shots from mount. Beans has control of Sinclair's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Sinclair regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Sinclair somehow manages to escape the mount and get back to his feet! Sinclair rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Beans moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Beans avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Beans drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Sinclair keeping moving, preventing Beans from controlling successfully. Beans pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Sinclair is keeping the position for now. Sinclair is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Bart Beans overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Beans is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Beans wants to control from the top but Sinclair keeps moving.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Beans showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Beans is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Sinclair is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Sinclair has escaped and now he's on top! Sinclair lands a couple of digs. Beans working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Sinclair doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Sinclair manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Beans looking to control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Sinclair is looking to stand up but Beans won't let him. Beans has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Sinclair can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Beans working for a triangle but Sinclair defends it easily.
Sinclair must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Beans trying to keep a closed guard but Sinclair is proving a slippery customer.

Beans steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Sinclair. Beans bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Beans wants to lay and pray for a moment but Sinclair keeps working. Sinclair is pushing Beans's head away, looking to escape. Beans manages to hold on to the position though. Beans has knee on belly and moves into mount. Beans has hold of Sinclair's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Sinclair manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Both fighters are breathing heavily. Beans with some aggressive grappling here, looking for the finish.

Sinclair really wants to buck Beans off and get back to his feet. Sinclair is trying to stand but he's not in a good position to be doing that! Beans has taken his back! Beans is cranking Sinclair's head sideways - that looks painful. He's managed to get his other arm under the chin and this looks bad for Sinclair! He's tightened the choke and Sinclair is tapping out!
