Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Kylar Tyco! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Jerry Lusk! The judges for this bout are , and .
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lusk just misses with a punch to the body.
Lusk tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Tyco was well out of range. Poor timing from Lusk. Tyco tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Lusk paws at him with a jab and circles away. Tyco uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Lusk.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Tyco. Tyco fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Lusk changes levels and scores with a jab to the body. Lusk misses with a body shot.
Tyco misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Lusk throws a front kick aimed at Tyco's knee but Tyco avoids it well. Tyco shoots in and drives through. Lusk sprawls well. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kylar Tyco. That's going to take a lot out of him. Tyco shoots for a takedown but Lusk saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Lusk drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Lusk is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Tyco has escaped the position, nice work there. Lusk with the ground and pound but Tyco regains half guard under the barage of strikes. Tyco is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Lusk scores with a couple of nice shots.
That's one minute gone in the round. Tyco has hold of Lusk's hands but Lusk slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Lusk has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Lusk is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Tyco is just riding it out for now. Lusk eventually gives up the hold. Lusk seems to be looking for submissions.
Lusk drops an elbow to the side of Tyco's head. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Lusk lands a nice short elbow. Tyco trying to control from the bottom.
Lusk looks to score some points with some ground and pound. Lusk thows a huge punch but Tyco dodges it nicely.
Lusk works his way into full mount! Tyco is wriggling around trying to escape.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Tyco is breathing heavily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Lusk scoring with strikes but Tyco is staying in there. Tyco has left one of his arms exposed and Lusk doesn't need a second invitation. He's isolated it and locked on a tight armbar. Tyco screams and taps out, obviously in a lot of pain. Hopefully there isn't permanent damage to that arm.
