Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Akira Tanahashi! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Patricio Knight! The judges for this bout are William Peck, Alec Ball and Elvis Blanc.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Tanahashi scores with a decent looking hook. Knight takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Nice defenses there by Knight. Knight tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Tanahashi swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect. Knight gets cracked there but stands up to it.

Knight throws a big counter head kick but Tanahashi avoids it with no problem. Tanahashi gets a clinch. Tanahashi misses with a short punch on the inside. Knight tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked. Tanahashi tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked. A shot in the inside from Tanahashi. Tanahashi lands with a left to the head. Knight tries to land a knee to the head but Tanahashi blocks with his arms.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Knight manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
That's one minute gone in the round. Tanahashi makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut. Tanahashi definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Knight misses with a punch to the body.
A short right hand to the side of the head by Tanahashi. Tanahashi misses with a short punch on the inside. Knight trying to land knees to the body.
Knight is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Tanahashi is defending well for now. Knight is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath. Tanahashi softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage. Knight dictating the pace here, as the fighters clinch against the cage. Tanahashi tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Knight's elbow.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Tanahashi tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage. Tanahashi lands a hook that snaps the head of Knight backwards. Tanahashi lands with a left to the head. Knight throws an elbow but it misses.

An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Tanahashi. Tanahashi working some nice short punches in the clinch. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! A head punch blocked on the inside by Knight. A hook to the body from Tanahashi.
Still in the clinch, Tanahashi scores with a nice short uppercut. Tanahashi tries to work over Knight's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. Knight slowing the pace effectively. Knight will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Tanahashi up against the cage. Knight misses with a hook from the clinch.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Knight wants to stall.

Knight swings wildly with an uppercut but Tanahashi uses good head movement to avoid it. Knight blocks an uppercut.

Tanahashi makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut. Knight stalling.
Kneeeeees! The crowd are calling for knees to the body. Knight obliges. Knight tries to land knees in the clinch but Tanahashi avoids the damage to the body.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch. Tanahashi lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards. Knight throws an elbow but it's blocked.
Knight is trying to maintain a safe position but Tanahashi gets an underhook and turns Knight into the cage. Tanahashi lands an uppercut. Tanahashi lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage. Knight trying to control the position but instead, Tanahashi has worked for underhooks and has pushed Knight into the cage. A nice left hand lands by Tanahashi.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Tanahashi. Knight content to slow the pace in the clinch.
With the fighters up against the cage, Knight throws an elbow but misses. Tanahashi swings wildly with an uppercut but Knight uses good head movement to avoid it. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Akira Tanahashi dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. Tanahashi jabs Knight to the body, keeping him at a distance. Tanahashi connects with the punch.
It looks like Patricio Knight has been cut. We are yet to see a takedown attempt from Knight in the fight. On paper you would think he is the more dominant ground fighter so let's see if these unusual tactics pay off. Tanahashi cracks Knight with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Knight tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Tanahashi pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Knight is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:21 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Akira Tanahashi! A very excited looking Akira Tanahashi rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
