Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Steve Norton (ranked 3961 p4p, 4305 weight class) and Ivan Aure (ranked 404 p4p, 429 weight class). Norton comes to the cage accompanied by Notice Me. Steve Norton could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Ivan Aure's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Steve Norton! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Ivan Aure! The judges for this bout are Darius Henderson, Ben Hemmingworth and Hugh Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Norton walks into a straight right hand from Aure. Aure looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight! Aure throws a right and a left that both miss. Norton misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Aure is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Norton clinches up against the cage. Norton is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Aure pulls him back up using the underhooks. Aure told us before the fight that he's been working on his elbows. An under utilised technique these days - let's see if it can sway the outcome of the fight. Norton tries to score a body lock takedown but Aure shows good agility there to stay on his feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Steve Norton. That's going to take a lot out of him. Aure being controlled against the cage. Aure breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Norton closes the distance and clinches up with Aure, looking for a takedown. Norton pushes Aure against the cage but Aure circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Norton avoids a punch combination nicely.

Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word. Norton drops down looking for an ankle pick but Aure pulls his leg out and moves away.
Norton tries to score a power double leg takedown but Aure sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Norton somewhat. Norton gets a clinch. Norton softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage. A short uppercut from Norton.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Still in the clinch, Norton scores with a nice short uppercut. Norton pulls guard. Aure postures up.
Norton escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Aure gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Aure preventing the sweep. Aure postures up.
Norton is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Aure is controlling him.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Norton not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Aure stuffs the takedown. Aure stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Aure wants it to stay on the feet. Norton goes for a double leg but Aure avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Aure continues to drive forward. Ivan Aure seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Norton shoots in looking for a takedown. Aure tries to sprawl out of it but Norton keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Aure manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Aure doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter. Norton clinches. Aure is defending well against a takedown attempt. Norton tries for a takedown. No joy.

Norton pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage. A right hand to the body from Norton.

Norton has been working on his balance at Kung Pao , so perhaps that has help him stuff some of the takedown attempts by Aure. Norton's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Norton shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Aure pinned against the cage. Aure gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Steve Norton will probably get the nod. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Norton closes the distance and clinches. Norton just leaning against Aure, taking a breather. Norton goes for a takedown in the clinch but Aure prevents it.
Norton pulls guard effortlessly. Norton wants to sweep here but Aure controlling him for the moment. Norton on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Norton tries to get out of the position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Aure trying to control but Norton is having none of it. Norton might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Norton is looking to improve his position but Aure isn't that keen on the idea. Norton slips a leg in and gets back to half guard. Norton moves into full guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Norton wants to stand up but Aure is controlling him. Aure preventing the sweep. Norton trying to control the position.
Norton lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard. Norton looking to pass the guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Norton postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Norton accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Aure avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Norton passes into half guard. Norton trying to control the action but Aure is working from the bottom. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Steve Norton dominated that second round. That's time! Norton's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. And we move into the final round!

Aure looking to control but Norton is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Ivan Aure has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Norton is really struggling to control Aure but he's trying to hold on to the position. Norton is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Norton not doing much here.
Norton is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Aure can do to turn this around? Norton is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
And that's the end of the fight! Steve Norton showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Norton, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
