Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Wesley Carter (ranked 25127 p4p, 4523 weight class) and Franz Muller (ranked 267 p4p, 206 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Wesley Carter! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Franz Muller ! The judges for this bout are Ryoma Takatsuka, Josh West and Micheangelo Fripello.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Carter shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Carter not landing any meaningful shots this time. Muller avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Carter. Muller blocking the ground and pound attempt from Carter. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Muller can do anything to dispel that myth. Muller wants to control but Carter is keeping busy.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Carter in particular looking to stall. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Carter thows a huge punch but Muller dodges it nicely.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Carter missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Carter sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Muller defending well though.

Carter wants to clinch so Muller counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Carter really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Carter looking to hit a scissor sweep but Muller is one step ahead there. Carter has Muller pulled in close to control his posture. Carter's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. Muller trying to control but Carter is working from the bottom.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Muller controls from within his opponent's guard. Muller must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Carter keeping moving, preventing Muller from controlling successfully. Muller slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Carter working a defensive guard here.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Carter closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Carter gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Muller .

Wesley Carter has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Franz Muller . Carter lands a nice elbow from the clinch. Carter lands a damaging elbow.

Muller has his takedown stuffed and Carter makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. We've been informed that Muller has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight. Carter plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
That has opened up Franz Muller 's cut even more. Carter closes the distance and clinches. Muller tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Carter just stands there and leans against the cage. Carter definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Carter decides to pull guard. Muller stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Carter swivels though and keeps the full guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Carter manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Muller manages to get himself to full guard.
Carter is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Muller can do to turn this around? Carter looking to control the position here, rather than advance.

Carter stands and steps away. Muller gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Carter has managed to clinch.

Carter has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Carter tries to free his leg and advance position but Muller is retaining full guard.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Carter accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Muller not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Carter shoots in looking for a takedown. Muller tries to sprawl out of it but Carter keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Muller manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Muller wants to counter the offense by Carter and move into the clinch position. No luck with that takedown attempt from Carter. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Carter fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Muller , pushing him back against the cage. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Wesley Carter dominated that second round. The cut man is working on Franz Muller 's cut. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round! Carter is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Carter shoots in looking for a takedown but Muller manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Carter's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. As Carter backs off Muller throws a huge counter combo but Carter manages to avoid it all. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Carter is defended easily by Muller . Muller shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Muller showed some decent athleticism there. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Muller trying to control from half guard but Carter is working away. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Muller prevents Carter from improving his position. Muller is looking to take a break and control but Carter is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Carter gets back to full guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Muller trying to control but Carter is working from the bottom. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

That will dishearten Carter somewhat. Muller tries to counter with a clinch but Carter shakes him off and moves away. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Wesley Carter. That's going to take a lot out of him. Muller shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Carter as he avoids it easily. Carter gets caught napping as Muller dives in and scores a takedown. Carter manages to retain guard.

Carter looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it. Muller trying to control the position from guard on top but Carter is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
