Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Punch McDermott (ranked 3093 p4p, 2345 weight class) and Ethan Hawk (ranked 434 p4p, 343 weight class). McDermott comes to the cage accompanied by Drunk In Love. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Punch McDermott!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ethan Hawk!
The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Roosa Järviläinen and Johanna Lukiainen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Hawk lands the left hand.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
McDermott needs to keep his hands up - Hawk had a free shot at his head there.
Hawk misses with a left hand
and McDermott counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Hawk misses with an uppercut. McDermott saw that one coming.
The fighters circling - McDermott throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Hawk! But no joy.
McDermott definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
McDermott swings widly with a right hand
and Hawk counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps McDermott thinking.
Hawk has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.
McDermott doesn't manage to clinch there - Hawk circles away.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
McDermott tries to close the distance and clinch up but Hawk swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Hawk scores with a jab. McDermott acknowledges it with a nod of the head.

McDermott clinches with his opponent.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Hawk lands with a left to the head.

Hawk manages to break the clinch.
Hawk throws out a token jab with nothing on it.

McDermott clinches up against the cage.
McDermott goes for a takedown attempt but Hawk pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
McDermott swings widly with a right hand
and Hawk counters with a straight right hand.
Hawk fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Hawk connects with a looping right hand.

McDermott clinches up with Hawk and pushes him back against the cage.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Hawk prevents the takedown attempt.
Hawk doesn't land with the attempted body shot.

Hawk breaks from the clinch.
Hawk scores with a hook.

McDermott is rocked!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
McDermott throws a lazy right hand but Hawk sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Hawk drops McDermott with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but McDermott looks back up at him and smiles so Hawk waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Oh McDermott is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
McDermott tries to clinch up.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Hawk! But no joy.
McDermott misses with a telegraphed body shot
and Hawk counters with a deadly accurate combination that rocks McDermott badly! He tries to strike back but Hawk puts an end to that with another precision combo that knocks McDermott out cold! Oh man, McDermott will never hear the end of this one!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:45 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Ethan Hawk!
