Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

Benavidez drives through and clinches with Marquese against the cage.
Marquese is trying to force a seperation but Benavidez has the dominant position.
Marquese's coach down at Cozad MMA Los Angeles was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Marquese's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Benavidez goes for a takedown attempt but Marquese pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Marquese misses with an uppercut. Benavidez saw that one coming.
Benavidez lands a slapping body shot.
Marquese throws a combination that misses
and Benavidez counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Marquese is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Marquese has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Benavidez finds it's way round the side to connect with Marquese's head.

and Benavidez counters with a huge left! Marquese is in big trouble! He's backing up but Benavidez isn't giving him chance to recover. Under a barage of punches the ref has to step in to save Marquese from any more damage. A dominating finish by Benavidez!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:26 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Roy Benavidez!
A less than humble Roy Benavidez misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
