Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Kendo Hirigushi (ranked 231 p4p, 395 weight class) and Marcinho Sitsongrit (ranked 33 p4p, 58 weight class). Marcinho Sitsongrit has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the featherweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 25 - 13 - 0, fighting out of London, Kendo Hirigushi! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 17 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Marcinho Sitsongrit! The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Jack Bonds and Percy O'Donnell.

and Hirigushi counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Sitsongrit throws out a powerful jab. Sitsongrit uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Hirigushi. Sitsongrit swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made. Sitsongrit tests Hirigushi's chin there with a solid looking shot. Nice shot lands for Hirigushi. A telegraphed right hand from Sitsongrit misses the target. Hirigushi tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Sitsongrit was well out of range. Poor timing from Hirigushi. Sitsongrit swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made. Hirigushi swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Sitsongrit scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sitsongrit showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Hirigushi.
Hirigushi connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head. Sitsongrit clinches with his opponent.
Sitsongrit lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards. A short right from Hirigushi. Sitsongrit tries to throw a body punch but Hirigushi avoids it by throwing Sitsongrit back against the cage. Sitsongrit tries for a takedown but Hirigushi manages to get underhooks.
Hirigushi is trying to break the clinch but Sitsongrit is controlling him. With the fighters clinched against the cage, Hirigushi creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut. Hirigushi is trying to break free. Hirigushi throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Sitsongrits head. Hirigushi tries to throw a body punch but Sitsongrit avoids it by throwing Hirigushi back against the cage. We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Sitsongrit has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat. Good body shot from Sitsongrit.

That's two minutes gone in the round. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Sitsongrit scores with a punch to the head. Hirigushi definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Hirigushi on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.

Oh Hirigushi is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! A big right from Hirigushi misses. Hirigushi takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it. Sitsongrit misses the shot to the body. Hirigushi throws an overhand right that lands on Sitsongrit's shoulder, as Sitsongrit tries to avoid the shot. Sitsongrit changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt. Sitsongrit throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Hirigushi slips a straight right by Sitsongrit. Hirigushi seems to have got his legs back now. Nice body punch from Sitsongrit. Sitsongrit slips a jab from Hirigushi.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Sitsongrit connects with a body shot. Nice straight punches there by Sitsongrit. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Sitsongrit. Sitsongrit fails in his attempt to clinch. Hirigushi appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body. Hirigushi swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Hirigushi scores with a nice head shot. Kendo Hirigushi is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Sitsongrit throws a jab but it's blocked by Hirigushi. Sitsongrit throws a body punch but Hirigushi moves out of range. Hirigushi appears to be looking for a big counter. Sitsongrit lands with a nice body punch. Sitsongrit uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Hirigushi.
Sitsongrit looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it. Sitsongrit takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him. The fighters circle momentarily. Hirigushi darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Hirigushi looks to score with a jab to the body but Sitsongrit is just out of range. Sitsongrit tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Hirigushi paws at him with a jab and circles away. Hirigushi throws a lazy right hand but Sitsongrit sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Sitsongrit tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Hirigushi misses with a few strikes there.

Hirigushi throws a jab when Sitsongrit was well out of range. Sitsongrit lands a glancing blow to the side of Hirigushi's head. Hirigushi lands a nice shot to the body.

Sitsongrit now looks to counter with a shot at the body. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Kendo Hirigushi will probably get the nod. That's time! Hirigushi's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. Hirigushi misses with a jab, cross combination.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Nice defenses there by Sitsongrit. Hirigushi looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Sitsongrit shoots and misses enabling Hirigushi to counter with a crisp jab. Sitsongrit fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Hirigushi on the side of the head.

Sitsongrit misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Sitsongrit throws a body shot but no joy. Kendo Hirigushi is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Sitsongrit scores with a hook to the body. Hirigushi takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. Sitsongrit's corner calls for a 1-2. Sitsongrit obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range. Hirigushi displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Sitsongrit throws out the jab. Hirigushi throwing a counter right hand but Sitsongrit manages to avoid it. Hirigushi ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Sitsongrit moves away. A little jabbing left from Sitsongrit on the counter but it doesn't find it's target. Hirigushi takes a jab right on the kisser.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hirigushi connects with a jab. Hirigushi throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Hirigushi misses with a few strikes there.

and Hirigushi counters with a nice uppercut. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. A big left from Hirigushi misses. Sitsongrit throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Hirigushi stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Hirigushi drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles. Sitsongrit throws out a powerful jab. Hirigushi takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.

and Sitsongrit counters with a huge left! Hirigushi is in big trouble! He's backing up but Sitsongrit isn't giving him chance to recover. Under a barage of punches the ref has to step in to save Hirigushi from any more damage. A dominating finish by Sitsongrit!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:58 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Marcinho Sitsongrit! Marcinho Sitsongrit is the new featherweight champion! Marcinho Sitsongrit decided to hype himself up post fight. It was going well but he went on about it a bit too long and the crowd turned on him a little.
