Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Slim Lahey! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, John Callaghan! The judges for this bout are Illya Tyunina, Aleksei Zolotukhin and Sergei Dronov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Callaghan instigates a clinch. Lahey fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Lahey is trying to pull guard but Callaghan has him pressed against the cage. Callaghan lands a hook to the side of the head. Callaghan missing with knees to the body.

Callaghan has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight. Lahey clinches with his opponent.
Lahey jumps guard and drags Callaghan to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Callaghan is looking to stand up but Lahey won't let him.
That's one minute gone in the round. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Lahey holds on and takes a little breather. Callaghan wants to stand but Lahey has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Callaghan lands with a nice body kick. Lahey clinches with his opponent.
Callaghan breaks from the clinch.
Callaghan sizes up Lahey with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle. Lahey takes a body punch but keeps moving. Callaghan throws a right hand that Lahey ducks under and follows up with a left that Lahey also avoids with ease. Good exchange - Callaghan coming out on top. Callaghan cracks Lahey with a good jab. Lahey takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Lahey takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Callaghan lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Lahey is rocked! Callaghan closes the distance and lands a vicious right hand that drops Lahey! Callaghan dives in looking to finish! Lahey is still trying to defend himself but he's taking too many shots and the referee has no choice but to stop the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). John Callaghan!
