Thomas shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Sobchak's guard.
Sobchak is wriggling around but Thomas manages to pass to half guard.
Still in half guard, Thomas seems content to control.
Thomas is thwarting Sobchak's attempts to control the position.
Sobchak wants to get back to his feet.

Thomas is trying to work for a kimura but Sobchak is defending well.
Sobchak is looking to escape.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Thomas is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Sobchak can do anything to dispel that myth.

Thomas is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Thomas is working for a kimura but Sobchak is defending it quite comfortably.
We've been hearing that Thomas has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.
Sobchak is trying to stand up here but Thomas is controlling him well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Thomas is trying to control the action in half guard but Sobchak is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Sobchak tries to push off, looking to stand up, but Thomas manages to move to mount!
Sobchak is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.

Thomas is working to isolate an arm here. It's a telegraphed submission attempt but he's gone for it anyway - and he's got it! Thomas extends the arm and Sobchak is forced to tap!
