Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 23 - 20 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Lyle Alzado!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 26 - 22 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Scott John!
The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Hirohito Nitta and Sosuke Kotani.

Alzado swings away with a leg kick that misses.

enabling John to counter with a crisp jab.
John has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.

John scores with the left hand. Alzado knows he should have avoided that one.
Alzado drops his hands momentarily and John takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
John drives through and clinches with Alzado against the cage.
John misses with a hook to the ribs.
Alzado wants to take the fight to the mat but John manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
John looks to throw an elbow but misses.

John lands with a straight right. Alzado didn't see that one coming.

John slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Alzado walks into a stiff left hand from John.
Alzado on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.

and John counters with a stiff right hand.

Alzado darts in looking for a takedown but John gets double underhooks and turns Alzado into the cage.
Oh Alzado is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Lyle Alzado. That's going to take a lot out of him.

and John scores with a counter punch that sends Alzado to the canvas! John smells blood - he's punishing Alzado with more strikes and the ref has stopped it! Alzado has no idea where he is - he's tackled the ref... oh dear, poor guy, the crowd is in hysterics!
