Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Hahnu Al!

Al shoots in for a takedown but McCooter shows good takedown defense.
Al connects with an inside leg kick.
Al shoots for a double leg takedown but McCooter sprawls well. He's pushed Al's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

and McCooter counters into the clinch. Nicely done.

and McCooter holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Al breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Al dives in and grabs McCooter's left leg, looking for a takedown. McCooter pushes down on Al's head and hops out.

Al clinches with his opponent.

McCooter pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Al shoots in for a takedown but McCooter shows good takedown defense.
Al looks winded!

McCooter looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.

Al manages to escape and get back to his feet!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

McCooter tightens his grip and picks Al up, before dumping him to the ground. Al manages to land in guard.
McCooter postures up and lands a big shot to Al's brow.
McCooter keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Al's head.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
McCooter is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

McCooter working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
McCooter slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

McCooter stands up from Al's guard - McCooter perhaps looking for a knockout.
Al tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Nice takedown defense from McCooter. No joy for Al on that attempt.
McCooter seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Al shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts McCooter as he jumps to the side.
Al has a takedown stuffed.
McCooter thinks about countering with a body kick.

McCooter takes the fight into the clinch.
McCooter scores with a shot to the side of Al's head.
McCooter keeps control of Al as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

McCooter breaks from the clinch.
Al fails to land the takedown.
McCooter seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Al gets caught flat footed, as McCooter shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

McCooter stands up and waves to Al to follow him.
Al is breathing heavily.
McCooter leaves Al with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

No luck for Al with that takedown attempt.
McCooter throws a head kick but Al moves out of range.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Al fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but McCooter avoids it really well and circles away.

Al has his feet on McCooter's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.

McCooter closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
McCooter lands a body punch.

McCooter digs a right hand into Al's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Al's gas tank.
This has been an exciting period of action!

McCooter gets control of Al's arms and successfully pulls guard. McCooter will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

McCooter has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Al can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
McCooter pulls Al in close to prevent any damage.

Al has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing McCooter to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Al is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - McCooter pulls down on the head and he's put Al to sleep! This one is all over!
