Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Kenji Takahashi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Glen Burnett (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Takahashi comes to the cage accompanied by Tokyo Drift. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kenji Takahashi! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 9 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Glen Burnett! The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Yuuki Gou.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Takahashi shoots in but Burnett avoids the takedown attempt easily. Takahashi ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Burnett moves away. Horrible takedown by Takahashi or perhaps it was just good defense by Burnett which made him look bad. Takahashi looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Burnett tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land. Takahashi thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Burnett's head. Takahashi prevents Burnett from improving his position. Takahashi sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Burnett defending well though. Takahashi throwing shots but Burnett is blocking nicely. Takahashi lands with a punch from half guard. The referee calls for the fighters to work.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Takahashi gets a takedown into half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Burnett is looking to improve his position.
Burnett regains full guard. Nicely done. Takahashi throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Burnett works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Burnett keeping full guard, as Takahashi tries to pass. Takahashi wants to control from the top but Burnett keeps moving. Takahashi pushes down on Burnett's leg and manages to get into half guard. Burnett missing with punches from the bottom.
Takahashi throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Burnett is not content to let Takahashi control the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Takahashi thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. A punch lands to the side of Burnett 's head but he takes it in his stride. Burnett closes this distance looking for a takedown but Takahashi circles away. Takahashi tries for a takedown but Burnett circles away easily and Burnett counters by clinching up. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kenji Takahashi. That's going to take a lot out of him. Takahashi has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Burnett regains guard immediately. Takahashi is breathing heavily. Takahashi content to stall in guard here.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Burnett has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Takahashi can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Takahashi with a nice head shot there.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Burnett escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Takahashi gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Takahashi with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Takahashi has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Takahashi stays in close to Burnett's body and controls the position. Takahashi trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Takahashi lands a couple of digs. Takahashi has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Burnett is proving hard to escape from. Takahashi stops Burnett from standing up. Takahashi with a nice head shot there. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Takahashi slips nicely into half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Takahashi looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Burnett with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Takahashi lands strikes from half guard. Takahashi passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Burnett! Takahashi landing strikes from the mount. Burnett tries to reverse the position but Takahashi maintains control. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Takahashi unloading with bombs! Takahashi lands a big elbow. Takahashi is landing with some decent strikes but Burnett is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue. A nice elbow there by Takahashi. Takahashi landing strikes from the mount and Burnett is in trouble! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Kenji Takahashi dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Takahashi drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Takahashi trying to control but Burnett is working from the bottom. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Takahashi accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Burnett has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Takahashi is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Burnett. Burnett is not content to let Takahashi control the position. Takahashi lands a decent elbow from side control. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Takahashi is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Burnett's shoulder. That is not cool. Burnett is not content to let Takahashi control the position. Burnett is trying to control Takahashi's posture but Takahashi avoids it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Takahashi is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Burnett knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Takahashi is chipping away with strikes.
Burnett takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Takahashi changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Burnett looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Takahashi working the body and head with strikes. Takahashi scoring with punches and elbows. Takahashi landing with strikes to the head and body from side control. Takahashi lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.

Takahashi is looking to take a break and control but Burnett is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Takahashi cracks Burnett with a big elbow. Kenji Takahashi overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. You can see the frustration on Burnett's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. A cross from Takahashi lands. A decent looking body kick lands there for Takahashi. Burnett shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. Burnett avoids the head kick by Takahashi.
Takahashi throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Burnett.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Takahashi looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Takahashi has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Burnett really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Takahashi takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Takahashi looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.

Burnett is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

Burnett escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Takahashi gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Burnett keeping moving, preventing Takahashi from controlling successfully. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Takahashi accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Takahashi stands up from Burnett's guard - Takahashi perhaps looking for a knockout. Takahashi shoots in and bounces Burnett off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Burnett wants to get back to his feet but Takahashi is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Takahashi cracks Burnett with a solid left hand. Takahashi landing with the ground and pound. Takahashi loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Takahashi pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Burnett is keeping the position for now. Takahashi stands up from guard. Let's bang! Burnett tries for a takedown but Takahashi circles away easily and Takahashi counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Takahashi.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Takahashi stops Burnett from standing up. Takahashi stands up over Burnett, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Takahashi postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Burnett wants to stand and escape but Takahashi is having none of it. Takahashi cracks Burnett with a solid left hand. Takahashi is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Burnett can do to turn this around? Takahashi chips away with some ground and pound. Takahashi scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Takahashi looking to pass the guard.

This has been an exciting period of action! Takahashi slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Burnett trying to control the position from guard on top but Takahashi is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Takahashi preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Takahashi wants to sweep but no luck. Burnett in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Takahashi lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Burnett! You get the feeling that Burnett really doesn't like being in this position too much.
Burnett is desperately trying to improve his position but Takahashi has a good base and remains in mount. Takahashi looking to control but Burnett is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Burnett flailing away with punches but nothing is landing.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Takahashi can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Burnett is looking to escape. Takahashi landing strikes, looking to finish! Burnett tries to hold on but Takahashi pushes him away. A nice elbow there by Takahashi. Takahashi is in the full mount, landing strikes. Takahashi landing strikes from the mount. Takahashi tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Takahashi looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
Glen Burnett has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Kenji Takahashi is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Burnett is in all sorts of trouble here.
And that's the end of the fight! Kenji Takahashi showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Takahashi, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
