PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jon Bones (ranked 25487 p4p, 25489 weight class) and Healthy Rob (ranked 674 p4p, 666 weight class). Bones comes to the cage accompanied by I BEAT YO' ASS. Rob has chosen Blank Space as his entrance music. Healthy Rob will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Jon Bones!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Healthy Rob!
The judges for this bout are Chris Saunders, Colin Fray and Roger Salmon.

Bones misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Rob tries a head kick but it misses.
Bones throws a sloppy head kick
and Rob cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Bones shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Rob but Rob pushes him off and we're back to square one.
A little jabbing left from Rob on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Bones tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Rob defends well and Bones ends up having to push Rob into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Rob looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
Bones tries to clinch but Rob is having none of it.
Rob raises up his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

and Rob counters with a head kick that drops Bones!

Bones is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

You can see the frustration on Rob's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Bones is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Rob knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Bones remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

Rob can't do much from the bottom here.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Bones wants to control but Rob is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Bones is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Rob's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Rob's back!

Bones controls Rob momentarily but Rob frees himself.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Healthy Rob dominated that round.
That's time! Back to the action!

Bones shoots in for a takedown but Rob shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Bones instigates a clinch.
Rob landing knees to the head.

It looks like Jon Bones has been cut.
Bones blocking some punches.
Rob scores with a shot to the side of Bones's head.
Rob misses with a short punch on the inside.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Rob creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

Bones is rocked!
Rob lands a big knee to the head and Bones goes down! Rob pounces and finishes the fight with strikes! He jumps to his feet and celebrates with the crowd!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:39 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Healthy Rob!
As Healthy Rob got his breath back, he grabbed the microphone and managed to blurt out the following: I want to say thank you mom for buying me my boxing gloves. And I want to say thanka to Alex Harvey for giving me a contract after I sucked his dick'.
Jon Bones was interviewed post fight and said 'I was robbed, shit judging, Alex is a bummy bum.'.
