Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Bruce Lee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and mitchell van der schans (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). van der schans has chosen husselin as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, mitchell van der schans!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Lee scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.

Lee wants to work for an arm triangle but van der schans is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Lee looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Lee looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

van der schans is looking to control Lee's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can van der schans avoid being mounted?
Lee stops van der schans from getting back to his feet.
Lee wants to take a breather but van der schans is having none of it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Lee is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because van der schans is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
van der schans is looking for a sweep. Lee is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Lee has a takedown stuffed.
van der schans scores to the head and body with a nice combination!
van der schans fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
van der schans moves in looking to clinch but Lee pushes him off.

van der schans shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. van der schans showed some decent athleticism there.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

van der schans is working for a submission of some sort.
van der schans is keen to just control but Lee is a slippery customer.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Lee shoots in and drives through. van der schans sprawls well.

That was a close round but I would say that Bruce Lee will probably get the nod.
That's time! Lee's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


van der schans shoots in looking for a takedown. Lee tries to sprawl out of it but van der schans keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Lee manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
van der schans throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

and van der schans counters with a shoot takedown. Lee fights it but they end up in guard.
van der schans is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Lee might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Lee keeping moving, preventing van der schans from controlling successfully.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Lee holds on and takes a little breather.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Lee is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.

van der schans tries to close the distance and clinch up but Lee swats him away and circles back towards the center.

van der schans changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Lee fights it off and pushes away nicely.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if van der schans can do anything to dispel that myth.

mitchell van der schans showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
