Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mark Doncaster (ranked 1382 p4p, 1167 weight class) and Patrick Bower (ranked 199 p4p, 171 weight class). Patrick Bower will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Mark Doncaster! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 8 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Patrick Bower! The judges for this bout are Aafke Stam, Patrick Alders and Saam Ante.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Doncaster gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
It looks like Mark Doncaster has been cut. Bower throws a body kick that misses. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Doncaster. Bower feints a counter leg kick. Bower fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Doncaster manages to avoid it. Doncaster misses with a body punch
and Bower connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Doncaster blocks a head kick by Bower.
Doncaster tries to land a body kick and Bower counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Bower leaves Doncaster with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Doncaster throws a leg kick which misses Bower's front leg but catches the back leg as Bower tries to avoid it. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Doncaster shoots for a double leg takedown but Bower sprawls well. He's pushed Doncaster's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mark Doncaster. That's going to take a lot out of him. Doncaster drives through with a takedown into Bower's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Bower utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Bower keeping full guard, as Doncaster tries to pass. Bower wants to get back to his feet but Doncaster is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Doncaster drops back looking for a leg! Bower is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Bower manages to kick Doncaster off! Doncaster jumps back into Bower's guard. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Doncaster's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Doncaster cracks Bower with a solid left hand. Doncaster thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Doncaster wants to pass the guard but Bower is keeping the position. Doncaster scoring with punches to the head and body. Bower preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Bower is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Doncaster chips away with some ground and pound.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Doncaster passes into half guard. Doncaster lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Bower really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Doncaster. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Doncaster working over Bower with some ground and pound. Bower looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. Bower on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Doncaster takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Bower taking some punishment here, with Doncaster in his half guard. Doncaster working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Bower is rocked! This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Bower is looking to control Doncaster's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Bower avoid being mounted? Doncaster moves into full mount! Bower won't be happy about that! Doncaster loads up on a couple of big shots to the head that have Bower scrambling to escape. He can't get free though and several more unanswered shots from Doncaster land to the head. The referee has no choice but to stop the fight. Doncaster stands and salutes the crowd.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Mark Doncaster! A relieved looking Mark Doncaster thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
