Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 26 - 16 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Randy Curran!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 23 - 19 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Japa Koniu!
The judges for this bout are Viktor Lagutenko, Fedor Mirinova and Aleksandr Martynov.

Koniu's coach down at St Petersburg MMA Gym was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Koniu's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.

Curran's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.

Curran jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Koniu walks away with a smile on his face. Curran gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Koniu is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.
Curran gets through Koniu's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.

A close round but Japa Koniu will probably get the nod.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

The fighters circle momentarily. Koniu darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

Curran misses with a short punch on the inside.
Curran lands with a right to the head.

Curran has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Koniu uses from the top position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Curran has a closed guard, preventing Koniu from standing up.
Curran is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Koniu would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Curran is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Koniu wanted to stand there but Curran had control of the position.
Koniu must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Koniu rolls with it to try and escape but Curran cranks on the arm and Koniu is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
